In the context of the First Austrian IFIP Forum “AI and future Society” and in my role as Austrian TC 12 representative and WG 12.9 working member, I provided a talk on “From Machine Learning to Explainable AI”.

The First Austrian IFIP-Forum “AI and future society” was initiated by the new chair of TC 12 Eunika MERCIER-LAURENT and was organized by  IFIP and the Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Innovation und Technologie (BMVIT). The two-day Forum, which took place from from May 8-9, 2019, was opened by the president of IFIP Mike HINCHEY and the keynote was given by Sir Roger PENROSE.

The International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) was established in 1960 under the auspices of UNESCO as result of the first international conference on Information Processing organized 1959 in Paris. IFIP is a global organisation for researchers and professionals working in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) to conduct research, develop standards and promote information sharing. The IFIP headquarter is based in Laxenburg, Austria. IFIP is an international, non-governmental organisation that operates on a non-profit basis.

To continue the initiated synergy between academia, industry and governments we plan to organize the 2nd Austrian IFIP Forum at the same venue, we cordially thank everybody for this first step – as AI and future society is of increasing importance.
